I have seen all the War movies.
I was not expecting this! And to top it all, we where in Saigon (today known as Ho Chi Minh city), named after the north Vietnamese leader in the war.
Saigon was the last stronghold in the War and the capital of the south.
But it was not the run down, broken, bankrupt, sad city I was expecting. Except for the country side everything is developed and evolving. I where in an accident during my time in Vietnam, got help from the local hospital. Clean, organized and doctors who can speak English and really know what they doing. I was surprised by the good conditions of all the infrastructure in Vietnam.
Vietnam was also the country where we had no host, no contact and we had to relay on GOD for all the answers. Our contact in Vietnam pulled out on the last moment. We where lost and "alone", but boy did JESUS provide!
He linked us with contacts who gave us a home, food and connected us to an orphanage where our journey started.
Now we had contacts and work to do. Also a lot of time with JESUS. This use to be a country of conflict and now I had to sort out a lot of conflict in myself. A lot of conversations happened between me and GOD, he reminded me a lot of my past. I had to face them face to face. Really not nice, all the stuff happening within me was so much to take in. Praise JESUS He was with me all the time. And after all of this it was a blessed time, never thought I would say this. It was really uncomfortable at the time!
We met people from the War who fought on both sides. What was very cool, is that the past is forgotten and forgiven. They started over and they are growing and building lives. Yes it was a hard and long process, but they are actually doing it.
This is what I wish for my country... unity!!!
I pray this in the name of JESUS!!
AMEN!!*
