China
We assume that everything in China is more or less what we imagine it to be, but I guarantee that China is different from the way most people are picturing it. The moment when I think of China I start to think of all the negative things the world has spoken over this incredibly big nation. When you hear China and 1.2 billion people in one sentence, I immediately put on my straight face in disbelief.
Our team had the privilege to spend 2 weeks together in Xiahe. We had to take 2 connecting flights of 2 hours each, a 24 hour train ride and a 6 hour taxi ride to get to the middle of China – On the border of Tibet and in old Tibetan. We were surrounded by majestic mountains, tall buildings, snow and beautiful Tibetan people.
We had no clue what Jesus was about to do. We knew that God had equip us and made us ready for what lies ahead.
Ready, set, YES!
God romanced us in China. God used the biggest, most broken nation to teach us on love. In a town of 20000 people, we were reminded of the other billion people around us... And we matter! God is busy and so intimately involved!
There was so much free time to actively wait on Jesus. We discovered His love in and for each other; in the nature and in the people we met.
There is so much to do and establish in this little town. Jesus, let Your Kingdom reign and set the captives free!
