India compassion challenge

India fair india...

A country with a great need.   As you walk or drive through any city in India, you see the poverty and the depravity of man.  This is sight that makes your heart turn and wonder where or how you can help, but then you see the need is to great and you feel helpless and also hopeless.  The only thing you can do is turn to God and ask Him what now?  I think the smallest difference we make in one life is a big difference to God.  Even if there are millions of people that need help at least we can make the difference in one life.

The final challenge of the year for Northbound proved this, as teams were divided up, it was Myself, Marita and Shanine in a team.   The focus of the challenge was India compassion challenge.  Instead of the usual norm of a challenge of teams spending the least amount of money and coming back with the most, we had to spend all of our money and blessing people around with it.  The only rule being, you can't give the money away you have to buy things for people.

Two kids found us as we were taking a photo of a statue and also got them to be in it with us.  We asked them if they wanted bananas and they got really excited and kept on repeating the word banana.  We found some bananas and apples and bought enough for the whole family as we saw that they had a home under a tree, if you want to call it home.  The kids went off with their fruit it was amazing to see just how they appreciated it, they ran to their parents, laughed with them and handed them the packets and then some of the family looked back  as smiled and waved to us....that was truely a God moment!!!
