India compassion challenge

India compassion challenge
India fair india... A country with a great need.   As you walk or drive through any city in India, you see the poverty and the depravity of man.  This is sight that makes your heart turn and wonder where or how you can help, but then you see the need is to great and you feel helpless and also hopeless.  The only thing you can do is turn to God and ask Him what now?  I think the smallest difference we make in one life is a big difference to God.  Even if there are millions of people that...

Prayer changes things....

The time in turkey for me was AMAZING ( and no it is not controrary on my last blog, it is because of that and because of what God has done through that that even though it was difficult it was still a GREAT TIMEA) I got confronted with so many things and so many ways that we live our life in South Africa, and God really came and revealed to me what it really means to Give up everything to Serve him, i met people that lost their jobs, their families, their friends, their whole life just because they...

Breaking point!!!

So my question for the time in Turkey was this.... After you have let yourself down and let the people around you down and have realized that you are not so great or immune to certain things that you thought you were,  what is your first thing that you do? Do you go to your parents? Do you go to your friends? do you ask advice from a magazines Dr Ruth? Do you go to Opera? Or  do you fall on your knees, repent and pray that God will lead you and give you strength and pick you up again?...

Chicken little mixed with Gummy Bears....

Chicken little mixed with Gummy Bears....
So the last day or two we have been running around Jbay and PE and doing the MOST MOST bizzare stuff EVER!!! We have had to catch a chicken (twice) make footprints in cow dung, build a human statue, play official official at a local school's  (read GLA) athletics day, played for a hour on a super tube, took a swim in the indian ocean, took a Ihashe for a ride on the beach ( for some of us the horse took us for a run...:P ), visited a few historic places in PE, sang gummy bears song about 100...

Testimony of God's Faithfulness

So the new year started with a bit of uncertainty, i had and still have a clear call from God to stay involved with GCX for at least another year but the whole time there was a sense that maybe i wouldnt be able to...  Let me explain Last year when we were in china i got eye infection and because i have a history with my eyes the specialist didnt want to  give me "the green light" to be away from home again for such a long time.  Well i decided that i am going to trust God for...

China, a time of challenges....

China, a time of challenges....
The last two or three weeks in my life has just been AMAZING! I have had such a wonderful time here in China that it is difficult to explain it in words but i will still try :P As soon as we arrived here in china about 3 weeks ago all of us just knew that it was going to be a month that will change our life's and that God had some amazing things planned for us! Our time started with 2 nights sleeping on the floor in train stations, and then we got on a train for a...

Its not all about the destination but about the journey!

We are coming to the end of our time here in Thailand, and the last few days I have been thinking a lot about everything that we did here and all the people that we met and so forth. It made me realize one thing about myself, I am so focused on where I am going, that I forget about today!! I am always looking at where we are going next, how we are going to be ministering to the people when we get there, how awesome it is going to be over there and how we are going to...

Wind; Tent; Roof...

Wind; Tent; Roof...
The past week we have been here in Israel backtracking Jesus last few days of his walk here on earth, and it has been an AMAZING journey. We have been to the mount of olives, the garden tomb, the "western wall", and just plainly exploring the streets of Jerusalem where He walked, lived, suffered, performed miracles and preached. We are staying in a Hostel in the old city on top of the roof, so every morning we have the MOST beautiful sunrise that we can ask for in the whole world over the Lord's city, and when i look at...

MUTTER MUTTER MUTTER and some photos

MUTTER MUTTER MUTTER and some photos
There is just one thing that i realised from my time in Cairo and that is how thankful each one of us that grew up in a Christian home/community can be.  We have got ALL the resources necessary to read up on anything that we need or want to but still we as Christians (South Africans) moan and groan and complain about everything.  For us it is an issue just to walk to the bookshop, buy a book and read it where here in Egypt there just isn't ANY Christian bookstore. We complain and struggle to wake up at 5 in...
