Wind; Tent; Roof...

The past week we have been here in Israel backtracking Jesus last few days of his walk here on earth, and it has been an AMAZING journey. We have been to the mount of olives, the garden tomb, the "western wall", and just plainly exploring the streets of Jerusalem where He walked, lived, suffered, performed miracles and preached.

We are staying in a Hostel in the old city on top of the roof, so every morning we have the MOST beautiful sunrise that we can ask for in the whole world over the Lord's city, and when i look at it i am reminded of how lucky i am to be here and to experience this!

I quickly want to share a story with you guys... As i mentioned we are sleeping in our tents on the roof of the hostel, but because it is on the roof we cant really actually put our tent pens into the ground (which is the roof), so we just pitched our tents without anything holding it really on the ground - luckily my bag is a bit over weight so  i was sure that my tent wont go anywhere anytime soon...:P

While we were sleeping last night the wind came up and my tent would just be moving ever so slightly across the roof towards my neighbors tent. The more the wind blew the more i was just a bit uneasy because my "covering sheet" (the waterproof part that comes on top of the mosquito net thingy) was dancing around like a maniac in the wind.

Suddenly the whole dance just stopped and i was able to sleep a bit more relaxed and everything, not knowing exactly why it stopped. So the next moment i felt a few drops of water coming into the tent but figured that it was most probably only the water being blown into the tent because of the strong wind and everything, but it became more and more and more, so i woke up to see what was happening and realized that my whole cover sheet was gone...the wind literally blew it of my tent and it was on the floor next to my tent, so without thinking twice i was out of my sleeping bag out of my tent and when i started to try to put the cover back on i realized that i didn't put my glasses on but just decided i HAVE to do this because the rain was getting more and more. So when i finally got the cover sheet on my tent again and climbed back into it most of my things were a bit (understatement) wet but i was so tired i couldn't care less and just decided to go back to sleep, the next moment Janus which was sleeping next to me just said "Nogal n interresante aand ne Wessel? " (what a interesting evening ) and i just then realized that he actually took of his covering because he saw at some stage mine was lying on the ground and he thought it was a good idea because the wind couldn't get underneath it and will just go through the mosquito net thingy...:P

So yea, there we were lying in the bed and just laughing at the situating thinking of how funny it must have been if someone had been watching us... P

Hope you guys have a wonderful and blessed week!!!
