Dear Friends and Family,
In 2 Corinthians 4: 8-11 Paul writes:
"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also might be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
In many ways the last two months had some of the biggest highlights of my life as well as some of the most unbearable moments.
To start with the first guy we baptised in Zanzibar and made friends with, the guy I baptised, robbed us blind and disappeared. Leaving us crippled.
But then again the other three guys we baptised have
found so much joy in the Lord and are going on strongly. I'm really proud of them.
Then two days ago, here in Northern Mozambique where I'm emailing from, near a town called Ribaue, I rolled the Land Rover. With 4 other team members with me in the vehicle.
Praise God nobody died, although it could so easily have happened. Rone broke her collar bone and has an ugly gash on the back of her head. Corneli hurt her back and is badly bruised all over. Abel hurt his arm and neck. Esther only has a few scratches and I have a small gash in my arm.
All of them got safely flown out to Maputo from Nampula and will be going back to SA from there. I had to stay back and sort out the Landy. It's in a safe place and will hopefully drive again if God does a few miracles. We might want to make it a convertible.
To make matters worse however is that it's not my vehicle, but borrowed.
I'm flying tomorrow morning with MAF to
Lanseria, Joburg.
Just wanted to let you guys know. God did miracles.
Greetings
Willem Taute
