“...they will never be hungry or thirsty. Sun and  desert heat will not hurt them, for they will be led by one who loves them. He will lead them to springs of water.” Isa 49:10

During a 28 hour bus ride from Ghana to Burkina Faso, we were listening to the news that kept blasting over the speakers. When asked for the interpretation someone nonchalantly translated that they were speaking about the food crisis in Niger.

Was this just another news report we were hearing?

Or was God calling us, Explore Africa, to respond to the cries of the millions suffering in Niger?

A few interesting facts about Niger:The desperate need in Niger

  • Niger is one of the top three poorest countries of the world.
  • Temperatures are currently the highest it has been in 20 years.
  • Niger is facing famine in its worst form at the moment due to drought.

Niger is mostly desert or semi-desert which means most people's lives solely revolve around finding water and food for them and their livestock. Because of this the drought is severely affecting the nation. People are truly suffering at the moment.

WE HAVE A VERY REAL OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, EVEN SAVE SOME LIVES....

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are spending the next three weeks in Niger. With your help we will be able to reach about 1000 people with the Good News in a practical way.

We will be working with local believers in an effort to visit at least 3 villages during which we would like to:

◦       Distribute 1000 food parcels and

◦       Show the Jesus film in the local dialect

WE NEED YOUR HELP

PLEASE HELP US TO RESPOND TO THE DESPERATE CRIES OF HUNGER IN NIGER BY SPONSORING ONE OR MORE OF THESE PARCELS

1 PARCEL = R60 = SAVING A LIFE

1000 people = R60 000
