Today was our first real travel day on this leg of our journey. After a 6 am wakeup, corporate prayer, packing and cleaning, we left Reggae Backpackers. We only found out that today that Adam, the landlord, is also a Christian and we had a quick chat with him and blessed him before leaving.
We decided to travel light and left all our big bags in storage. No sleeping bags, warm clothes or any luxuries. Just the necessities.
We took a train to get out of the city and started hitch hiking. At this point we split into 2 groups of 3 and 4 members each.
We met up at about 16h30 in Langkap again with a world of stories to tell. Both teams were blessed with lifts straight to the rendezvous. Neither of the guys who picked up the teams needed to go where we were going but, they went 50km out of their ways to
accommodate us. We thank them for these selfless acts. This was an eye opener to all of us as the one was a Muslim and the other a Buddhist. God uses everyone for His glory! Our drivers also blessed us with food and drinks and we can with all honesty say that God provided in our every need today and more. John 10:10!!!
We met a little girl in Langkap named Ruth, but she was a little camera shy, so her daddy helped out a bit. Wonderful people here in Malaysia. We are loving it here, the landscape, but most of all the friendly and inquisitive people.
Philip told our driver that the palm, banana and date plantations looked like paradise. Freddy mentioned how Jesus said to the criminal on the cross that he will join Him in Paradise that day. I think that our perception of paradise and God’s one are at different ends of the spectrum! I don’t think we can fathom what is waiting for us in
Heaven. “Oh happy day” I started rejoicing.
We are now waiting for Ps Silvanus to come pick us up in town. You will meet him tomorrow.
What a day, what a God we serve. All glory and honour to YHWH, the living God!
