Work Your Way´s journey starts of in Gautemala!
From the moment we landed in Gautemala(after some long flights from SA to Spain then to Gautemala), the whole team almost instantly fell inlove with the country!
I personally love the fact that almost everyone is the same lenght as me or even shorter(which is a new experience for me).
Then there is the very exciting taxi drives, where bumping cars isn´t something out of the ordinary.
The clothes is something out of the ordinary aswell and it is a challenge to rather save money for food then spend it on clothes!
Even though we have only been here 2 days, the people from Gautemala have already captured my heart, I truely can´t wait to get to know them deeper.
It is sad to know though that the majority of people is Catholic. But we are sure that through our lifestyles and what we come to do in the country, we can show that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
The little car in this picture is called a Tuk-Tuk...they seem to pop out everywhere!
We stay at Pastor Ben in Panajachel. There are a lot of tourists in Panajachel. One of the reasons(like you can see in the picture below) is because of the big lake and the active volcano´s surounding it.
We will be serving to different people throughout Panajachel. From digging a well(picture below), to repairing a wall damaged by the mudslides that comes during the rainy season, to help building a house. And at the same time shining the light of Jesus Christ throughout the community.
