Somebody saw it fit to divide us into radnomly selected new teams and let us run around London unchained. If you’re in your head going “why oh why?” feel free to say it out loud. This was my first reaction too! Our never ending journey to figure out whatever’s going on in our leaders’ heads experienced a set back and we’re back to square one! The London Challenge was different to say the least. Not a good or a bad different, just different…
Each of us was divided into a new team, except for the white team whom participated together for the first time this year. I’m still not convinced about the fairness of it all, but we were happy to give them a chance to show us what they’re made of! We’re also content with them taking the first position proving to us their competence. Team two consisted of myself, Elbe, Christine and Marcel, team three was Mari, Tjaart, Herman, Elizma and Debree, team four Margot, Liza, Paul and Tiaan and last but not least Kobus, Zylna, Tia and Elzet.
We started early in Trafalgar Square, enthusiastically greeting our new team members as well as the local London teams competing against us. We set of looking for the usual statues, museums and other London attractions. A sure highlight was our SimEx Sponge Bob ride at the Science Museum and eating a whole cooked squid in China Town proved to be the most challenging. We enjoyed a lovely Chocolate Brownie in the London Borough Market and walked across the very famous Tower Bridge.
This challenge seemed more like a lovely day out with four randomly picked friends than a GCX Challenge. We discovered and got to see places in London which otherwise would’ve remained secret to us. We finished off a long day by walking through the tunnel under the Thymes River and crossing the Greenwich Time Line as a team!
Earlier the leaders randomly selected which teams participated for which colour teams and I’m happy to report that Margot’s team represented us. We came in fourth place and scored an extra 3 bonus points for winning the super task (which was drinking raw eggs…) Nothing’s been made official yet, but it seems that Yellow scored 19 points out of this deal and might thus still be in the over all lead.
Lots of Yellow Love until next time!
