Stormco

What a great time I had in Wellington when a few of us Global challengers joined up with Stormco for ministry. Stormco is a New Zealand based ministry for young teens. Stormco is an acronym for Service To Others Really Matters and that's exactly what we did in the week. For the duration of the week we run a kids club in the mornings with the theme Avalanche Ranch, Wah Hoo! Many kids from the community attended the club and we had great fun with them.

During the afternoons we would go out into the community and serve them by cleaning their gardens and even their houses as well as visit the Wesley community care centre! I couldn't believe the state of some of the houses but when we heard the background of the families then all makes sense. It was a real joy to serve this family however our hearts were just compelled to do more for them but unfortunately we were not able to stay all the time.

This helped me to realize that there are many families in each of our communities who have a huge need and each of us need to meet those needs, it's our obligation as Christians. However this cannot happen just over a few days but we need to consistently make time to help them and as Jesus commissioned us we need to disciple them. Get involved in your community!

It was a blessing to work with the group from Stormco and we had great fun together. After the week I must say that I once again realized how important it really is to serve others with no hidden agendas, but just out of the love that Jesus has put in our hearts to love others as ourselves. This service to others makes a huge change in lives and the big change happens to me the one serving! God compels us to help others not only for the blessing it is to those people but more importantly because of the gigantic blessing it is for yourself.

Just want to thank all the people who organized us to join up with Stormco, and the van. Also huge thanks to the team, was great working with you guys. Thanks for the fun times, the Rugby game, the crazy laughing every second that will probably haunt me for the rest of my life! May God continue to bless you as you keep serving others. And always remember that God is real, awesome, in charge, etc! Wah Hoo!
