It was with heavy hearts but a lot of excitement that we had to leave Jeffreys Bay on friday morning the first of March. I wonder how many times this year I will still have to feel that feeling. That feeling of being sad about what and who we are leaving behind, but incredibly excited of what lies ahead. I cant believe that training has already come to an end! It has been such an amazing experience and also an experience of "multiplication". I have witnessed exponential growth in myself and so many of my fellow team members! God...

35 Global Challengers, 3 log homes, 1 Week, NO Funds...BUT UNLIMITED FAITH! Global Leadership Academy, born out of Global Challenge Expeditions, is currently situated in a Mall in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. We have been blessed with 5ha of undeveloped land and a vision to create an eco-friendly school campus. Phase 1 of the building project is currently underway, but more manpower and finances are needed. As part of their training, the new Global Challenge participants are supporting GLA this week in laying the foundations for the next 3 log homes. We will be digging the foundation holes and...
During the year, we get to know God in many ways. God being god Father h been quite a theme for Northbound our team has really been blessed in abundance, but I would like to focus a little more on how God has just been so specific in my small personal needs. It started off in India, our second country. I was really in need of a new day bag. I wanted to buy one in Nepal, but then decided against it, but God knew better and was in control and it was no surprise that our gift from the...
Since I arrived in Jeffreys Bay I have learnt so much about God and who He is. Training has been such a great blessing and it is such a great privilege to be able to dwell on God's word and be in the presence of other young people who are seeking God's heart. Every day I am learning more about what it means to die in ourselves, and it is a continuous process but I trust that this is something that God will help me with throughout the year. I have also learnt so much about the freedom that lies in...
So we were sitting on a rooftop in india singing the song THE ANTHEM. The words go something like this : wake up child it's your time to shine, you were born for such a time as this. I have been pondering on these words a lot and they carry so much significance. These words reall shook me and I realised this is our time to shine. By shine I mean bringing God's light and living in His fullness. I was motivated more than ever to search my own life and to get rid of anything that is withholding me...
If there is a theme that I have learnt about a lot this year it is probably...EXPECTATIONS. I am not sure how expectations are formed. I am sure sometimes you form expecations unconciously, bue we do definetely create expectations of events, things, people and...ourselves. These expectations are not always realistic and mostly they are not always Godly. We especially create big expectations in our minds about something as big as a Global Challenge one year journey. Things like it is just going to be fun and nice, no hard times. Spiritually just in overflow all the time, but these are...
So some news about the amazing country of Indonesia!! I dont really know where to begin, our time in Yogya was truly blessed and so amazing. We met up with a pastor that the previous year's team met by prayer walking through the streets as they pioneered the country. We were also privileged to have the leader of one of last years team join us for our time in yogya. Yogyakarta is situated on the island of Java and is seen as the spiritual capital of Indonesia. The country is mainly muslim and every morning and afternoon you...
