Genesis

I just started training in Jeffreysbay for Global Challenge. I received a new family that supports me and which I can trust. I have God on my side. How can this year and the rest of my life not be good?!!!!

Lets start with the training. The classes is exciting, insightful and fulfilling. We are doing the Veritas bible school and it is so practical and fun. It starts with basic things about how we should read the Bible by exegesis and then how to apply and teach it in our lifes. Feels like I started to read the Bible all over again! A new world has been opened to me!

We also receive classes about other cultures and religions like Islam and how to approach them. For instance if you tell a Muslim that you are a Christian you will put your life in danger. You have to tell him that you are a follower of Christ and tell him how you also believe and read the old testament. Through that you can work with the scriptures that shows to Jesus coming in the new testament. It is very exciting to receive this information!

The life at Global Challenge is always exciting. We get a lot of challenges. The one morning everyone was woken up before 6 o clock and we had to pack and clean our rooms as soon as possible. We all then had to complete different challenges on the beach (like making tunnels under the sand and getting our team members throug it). And then we had to walk about 2km with our bags through the beach sand which was extremely tough. We then put up camp next to the beach at a caravan site. I was very glad that I prepared a lot before I came to Jeffreysbay by camping out numerous times. Everytinhg went smooth and I am very happy with all the gear I brought with.

We also started with outreach work. We share our stories and disciple students at the new Global Leadership Academy high school. We helped cleaning at a Aids hospital in the township and we cleaned a field at a primary school to make a garden. We also help at a rural pre-primary school to play with the children and to teach them songs about Jesus. I think it is very difficult to work with so much children at a time and I have a lot of respect for teachers. After 20 minutes I lost my voice and was exhausted. Go teachers!!

I have learned so much about being humble and giving everything into God's hands. I have also learned about the cost of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. It costs you everything! Family, friends, belongings and all your pride. His arm is not too short to help us. He is also righteous and in time reveals all the parts of your life that is still not up to Christ's standard.

I am very excited about the year and seeing God's hand and hearing His heart!

All honour and praise to God!

Prayer requests:

-For God to protect and lead my family at home in His perfect will

-For God's protection over me, my group and all our gear.

-That God's perfect love will manifest in our lifes to oneanother.
