Snowy China

Snowy China

China isn抰 what we expected it would be.   The dirtiness came as a shock to us. Because it抯 winter it抯 also very colorless, brown and grey.  Maybe that is how God intended it.  It抯 easy to love a place that抯 beautiful.  It抯 more challenging to grow to love it, when it抯 not what we expected it to be.  Even so, the feelings that develop are lasting one抯.

One of the highlights of China...

that came quit unexpected, was the beautiful red canyons and the mighty Yellow river roaring it抯 way thru most of China.  For the Blue team it was ones again a reminder of the beauty of God抯 creation.  A great example of this was the sight of the snowy mountains and frozen lake we had the privilege to see.

Another experience we will never forget is the driving skills of the locals!  If we can give you one tip for the future, it would be: If you ever travel from one place to another in China, NEVER, NEVER take a local bus over the mountains.  If hopping about next to an 80m Cliff fall doesn抰 scare you, then driving on the same side of the oncoming traffic, on a turn next to the 80m cliff fall certainly will!

We found that in the small town areas people accepted us with warm welcomes and friendly smiles.  Communication is also very hard, but we found that drinking tea together is another way of communicating.
