I am in love- hopelessly, completely and utterly head over heels! How can one not be with beautifully dark eyes looking up to you and a dimpling smile that is pure concentrated sunshine!
Every morning when a child run to with open arms and hug me (despite the fact that I am very dirty from painting the school) I realise what an enormous priviledge it is to be loved by a child...by an orphan.
The last night I slept in the orphanage alongside two little girls. It was an experience that I will never forget in my entire life. We (Elzet and I) ran through a thunderstorm to the dormitory, needless to say my feet got very dirty and it looked as though I soaked my feet in a mudbath! The girls got me in their room and sat me down on the bed. And washed my feet. A seven year old girl washed my feet. Later when we went to bed, I first tucked the two girls in and lay down between them. As I lay down between them, the one girl wriggled herself free from the sheet and returned the favour...She tucked me in and kissed me on the cheek. I felt as though my heart will explode with joy. O, to be loved by a child!
T here is no words to describe the whole India experience and this is just a little taste of the selfless love these orphans have.
