Jump for joy - the Zulu way

Although our jumping is not as coordinated as that of our fellow GCEX teams, we do not lack in enthusiasm or serving the community. After the opening of a sports stadion at Ndumo in KZN in South Africa, the URCSA church in the community decided to clean up the mess left behind.

This decision was made during our morning service under the trees (because of the heat and humid conditions). D-day was decided on - Monday 16:00.

At the estimated time, two Sani loads of kids and a few adults were picked up and transported to the rendevouz point where some soldiers were already waiting. God was on our side! Earlier that morning a shower of rain broke the intense heat and the clouds were protecting us from the burning African sun. Armed with black refuse bags, the enemy of pollution were attacked by this courageous band of warriors.

After two hours of toil and sweat, the victory was gained. The enemy were contained in 40 black bags. The ground was recovered. Our hearts were full of joy. We did not work to be seen or to be rewarded. We fought the battle to serve our community and let our light shine for our Lord so that others can be drawn to Him.

The smiles on the faces showed the feelings of the heart.
