My time in Africa definitely proved to me that Africa is not the darkness of the world. People may judge Africa and label it as Dark Africa because of the poverty...but Africa has way more to offer than any other country that I have ever been to.
We had the privilige of staying in a Zambian village for two nights. Since we first entered the village, we were treated with so much respect and love. I have never experienced so much love and kindness from a stranger. We were staying wih Janet, she is the local missionary in the village. She shared her house and her food with us and even treated us with sweet potato chips!
All over Africa I've only experienced love and kindness. The children of Africa are different...they're still innocent and eager to learn. They're not judgemental. They even fight to just hold your hand! All they need is a chance...and a lot of love. They are just as intelligent and worthy of a chance to prove themselves. They will prove to be tough competition in the world.
I've learned a lot from the children. They're content with what they have. Their discipline and respect is amazing. The rest of the world can definitely learn from Africa...especially from the African children. If Africa can unite in Christ, the rest of the world will be blinded by the light that will shine from Africa. We just need to take hands in prayer and put our trust in God.
Jabulani!!! Sing for joy Africa!!! The Lord your God has risen upon you!!!
No wealth of any first world country can ever replace the love that Africa can share with the rest of the world...God's love.
With God's love,
Elzet Saunders
