The beauty of uncomfortability

Our team split up in groups of 3, went into the streets of Singapore and shared the love of Jesus. What a privilege to explore beautiful Singapore in this way. We went with the bare necessaties and trusted God for the rest! I'm not going to lie- It was definitely very challenging as we found that some people were very closed and cold toward us. 😬

I've learned a valuable lesson in the few days we spent in Singapore, after complaining to God about being uncomfortable while sharing the Good News.. God loves us soooo much and so deeply desires for an intimate, real, living relationship with us that in order for us to seek Him, need Him, speak and listen to Him (things we so easily forget to pursue) - He is willing to take away our comfortability.

We are sometimes so scared to step out in faith and boldly do what we believe God is telling us to do. Our mind runs around with so many 'what if's?' We quote Jeremiah 29:11 which states God's promise for a prosperous future for each one of us, but how can His plans for our lives be fulfilled when we are too scared to be obedient to every little thing he asks us to do or say during our daily lives. How can He then trust us with His amazing big plans for our life when we are not faithful in the small stepping stones? (even if it is even to go speak to the lonely looking stranger on the bus.)

What are we so afraid of?

Uncomfortability?

Being rejected?

Sometimes we need to leave every comfort aside to come again to a place of surrender and rest for restoration of a deep relationship with Him. He wants us to experience His vast and deep love and He wants us to be still and listen to His voice- this is our amazing relational God!bJust to think that He cares so much about us that He would go to great lengths to draw near to us.

Would you still be willing to share the love of Jesus to other people even when it means giving up everything that brings you comfort? (yes that includes food, the support of loved ones, security, a bed, a shower, control over your life etc).

It's reaaaaal tough sometimes! It's HUMBLING.

But it's all worth it because of Him. Because of the cross.

Because of the freedom and the hope He brought me.

Because of the grace and the love He has for me.

Why WOULDN'T I share this amazing truth?

Why wouldn't I accept His invitation of love?

Why wouldn't I want a deeper, real, living, life changing relationship with the Creator of the Universe?
