Guatemalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Guatemalalaaaaaa!!!!! :)

Great place! Wow! The people are so amazing and they dress really cool and colorful. I was tempted to get rid of all my clothes and just stock up on all the funky things they sell there:) Luckily I am a pretty level-headed person and I saw the impracticality of such an action (haha)

Anyway.. Our ministry in Panajachel, Guatemala entailed physical labor during the day and then teachings in the evening. Busy busy just the way we like it…

The physical work involved building a well, building a retaining wall, and helping Joe- in his garden and in his heart.

The well was in Ben’s - the pastor in Panajachel- yard. He needs a well because in rainy season it sometimes rains so much that the water reaches hip-height..crazy. then no one can go and get water. The boys dug the verrrrrrry deep well, while the girls sifted the sand that they dug out.. we had a sweet system going if I do say so myself:) it was quite appropriate because in the teachings we were learning about being sifted and sifted to make sure that we are truly and 100% for Jesus:) so it was cool to see a physical representation of it. We first sifted and only removed the big rocks. Then the sand that was sifted is sifted again to be as pure and as without fault as can be.. Catch my drift?? :)

The other job was to build a retaining wall –which I for some reason kept calling a dry wall:)- Any way, this retaining wall was for a family whose house was completely covered in mud due to the rain. It was so cool to help out and create a safe environment for the family to live and not worry if there house is going to be engulfed in mud during the next hard rain.

Yaaay for working!
