God, loving through us...!

I had no idea where to start writing...there is so much that happened in this first month of training...God's story, our challenges, celebrations, Veritas Bible course or even just our own life stories...but the golden thread through it all was without a doubt God's Spirit at work...

We had a teaching on sharing the gospel to a world in need and taking God's Word to strangers around us. The afternoon we were divided into teams of three to seek God's heart for specific people...In our team we saw a Venter-trailer, red skinny jeans and a sad woman sitting next to a building, and with that we went into the  streets of Jeffery's Bay, waiting on the Spirit to reveal these things in reality. After 80 minutes of walking around we walked past a shop with the exact red skinny in their window...wow! We entered to find out that this shop belonged to a pastor. Just when we entered she received a phone call to say that she don't have the funds to host the conference that they were planning in Cape Town...God knew exactly when she needed prayer and encouragement the most and sent us exactly at that moment into her life to strengthen her faith in the One who always provided in the past, and will certainly keep on providing...!!!

Even though we didn't "find" the sad woman or the Venter trailer I really experienced God reminding me that I know the sound of His voice, just like sheep know the sound of their shepherd's voice! We should not base our obedience or faith on the result of what He told us, but rather on the fact that He spoke and we heard... The next day I walked to a shop, randomly deciding to go and withdraw money. While I was walking to the ATM I saw a old lady sitting next to a building...the exact same picture that God showed me through prayer the previous afternoon! Aaaah, I walked up to her and told her what just happened, also telling her that part of what He told me was that the lady was very sad... Tannie Marie's eyes filled with tears as she told me that, that woman was she indeed... her husband died three years ago and her children, although they are trying, cannot provide enough for the to live on. It breaks her heart to be a burden on them and the past week was clouded with a sadness she cannot describe! She believes in God, but she just started to loose hope...and then I walked up to her! I had the opportunity to pray for her, reminding her that God sees her... Her life is important to God and the fact that He sent me personally to her in a way like this is just physical proof of that!! She is important to Him...! What a God we serve!!!

This is just two examples of the many things the Spirit did in the last few weeks...no human mind can understand it, and therefore no one can argue against the fact that Jesus Christ is ALIVE!!! God the Creator, Almighty, All-knowing loving His people through us...what a privilege!!

1 Cor.2:4 "My message and preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power."
