The Tour of the Father's Heart: Successful Take-Off!!

It has been a while since I have posted a blog and a lot has happened. I apologise for my lack of diligence....I have no excuses to offer, just a pure apology!

The journey began long ago, even before we hit Jeffreys Bay for training. It began in Botswana while preparing to leave for Jeffreys Bay. With the support of many generous people and my local church, New Day Church in Gaborone, Botswana, I have been able to embark on an incredible journey of a life time.

The purpose of the seven week training in Jeffreys Bay was to prepare us for our journey around Africa. I am pleased to say that this preparation was worthwhile and its objective were well achieved. In fact the training that we received not only prepared us for this year's challenge but also equipped for life after the challenge. The lessons that we learned during our time in Jbay are clearly expressed in the 5 GCEX core values which are;

  1. Travelling around the world in a God-seeking lifestyle.

  2. A surrendered, joyful, down to earth, teachable and adventurous generation that will become true servant leaders of this age.

  3. The Word of God, faith, prayer and the Holy Spirit at the core of our pilgrimage.

  4. Restoration of character building, integrity and the fear of God in this generation.

  5. Sharing the good news with a world in need.

With these core values as our mandate we set out for our journey with our first stop being Tunisia. After an awesome two weeks in Tunisia we flew to Morocco where we stayed for about 3 weeks. Our time in Daklah, Western Sahara, marked the end our time in Morocco. These GCEX values really carried us during a time of adapting to life without our usual comforts.

Through our time in these two countries we really discovered the value of prayer especially in an environment where we could not explicitly express our faith. We met amazing people who made a profound impact on our lives.
