After much over landing from Niger, through Benin we ended up in Togo for an unanticipated period of time. We have just come out of a significant time of the year where we stopped, in Egypt, to look back on the journey with a reflective and teachable attitude. The environment and beauty of the Red Sea and the rugged barren desert mountains in Egypt were definitely the most appropriate context in which to rest and review the first half of our journey. In addition to resting and looking back, we were greatly spoiled by God through generous people, the company...

‘The Ground of Unrelenting Magnetic Force that detained us for a Greater Purpose and Undeserved Reward....’ We left Benin with a taxi that seated up to nine people excluding the driver. We have become very accustomed to this cosy public transport arrangement. There are usually animals among the passengers, this time we just had a live guinea fowl behind the back seat. The border crossing from Benin to Togo was a very smooth procedure which led us to the land of unpredictability. The beautiful landscape and climate of Benin rolled out into Togo like a carpet and did not yield...

Goats Everywhere!! Welcome to Senegal..Welcome to Africa. I love Senegal.... From Mauritania we crossed over to Senegal, which is where we have been for the past two weeks. Senegal is a very special country. Up until Mauritania we had experienced Africa with a touch of Europe, even though poverty still remained a strong characteristic, but when we reached Mauritania we got a glimpse of 'rustic' Africa. Senegal is almost like the full realisation of the 'rustic' Africa. The humility and simplicity of the lifestyle is so full of richness. The country has a sense of contentment even in the...
Mauritania truly turned out to be a land of contradiction. Friendly officials at the border, 5 star welcome at the youth hostel and even breakfast in a Taxi! We over landed from Western Sahara, through Mauritania, to Senegal. We spent two nights in Mauritania. The short time in Mauritania was yet another glimpse of God's faithfulness to us. He sent people ahead of us and really provided for us. We experienced incredible favour and protection in this country. We were greatly blessed with friendly and effecient (as far as effeciency gets in Africa) officials at the border....a very...
The greatest treasure of our time in Morocco was prayer. In a country where we are not allowed to do much with regards to our faith we had to acknowledge that God can do so much more through our prayers. 2 Chronicles 7v14 became our daily bread as we interceded for this nation. We saw and heard of the barrenness of the land, the oppression suffered by outcasts and the darkness imprisoning those who are lost and the most appropriate response was to fall to our knees. We acknowledged that He alone is mighty to save. We prayed the Word...
Tunisia We arrived in Tunisia at a very crucial point of the country's history. We arrived at the end of the Revolution, a time when people were celebrating their new freedom. We were welcomed by a very peaceful environment. We experienced great hospitality through the locals that we met in the relatively short time we spent there. I think that one of the biggest lessons in Tunisia, as it was our first foreign country, was that God is the only constant when all is stripped away. We found ourselves in great unfamiliarity and couldn't look to alternative...
It has been a while since I have posted a blog and a lot has happened. I apologise for my lack of diligence....I have no excuses to offer, just a pure apology! The journey began long ago, even before we hit Jeffreys Bay for training. It began in Botswana while preparing to leave for Jeffreys Bay. With the support of many generous people and my local church, New Day Church in Gaborone, Botswana, I have been able to embark on an incredible journey of a life time. The purpose of the seven week training in Jeffreys...
‘Passenger Details’ {Part 1}..A Tour of the Father’s Heart for Africa I am a 25 year old lady currently working as a Project Manager for a company called Time Projects in Botswana. I was born and raised in Botswana. I went to junior school in Botswana and I went to Kimberley, South Africa, for high school where I was a boarder. It was during boarding school that I met Jesus. After completing my High School education I went to the University of Cape Town. I was in Cape Town for five years where I completed an Honours degree in Construction...
A Tour of the Father's Heart for Africa: Explore Africa Expedition Perception through the human eye alone is limited, both in depth and distance. Our weak attempt to see the Father's heart through visual aids offered to us by the world and sometimes by religion itself leaves us abandoned to an even more severe blindness and to oppressive misconceptions of who He is. My heart's desire is to take on His lenses and embark on an expedition of His Heart for African nations. I am embarking on an adventure to get to know the Father’s heart through service and...
