Jeffreys Bay - first week of training!

"Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?" - John 11:40

One week of our journey has passed, and I am already in awe of the glory of God. The last few days I've had the privilege to meet some truly amazing sons and daughters of our Lord and King. And I am filled with such an excitement of what is to come.

We are currently in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa for our training before leaving to Egypt on February 24th from where we will continue around the world. About 60 of us from three teams are here together - Explore Africa, North Bound and South Bound (of which I am part). We have also been divided into simple churches (small groups). Our group consists of Johan, Janus, Yvonne (awesome people!!) and myself.

Throughout the year the teams will partake in various challenges between mission projects. Last Tuesday we had our first one! We, as small group, had to wash 10 cars, eat 20 ice-creams and decorate a cake and find someone in Humansdorp whose birthday it is in January to celebrate with. We also had to find a coo king pot for the year, pray at a primary school, ride supertubes, read some chapters in Luke and visit the old age home. We had great fun as we ran through JBay together, prayed together and laughed together.

This week we also met in our South Bound group to listen to each others' life stories / testimonies. Wow, we serve an awesome God. I wish you could hear the amazing things our Lord has done in the lives of the team members.

Change the lives of some kids in the township! Pray with us as we follow the Lord as He transforms Ithemba Primary School. Our hearts broke when we saw the vandalism and neglect of the school after the holidays - broken glass everywhere, missing doors, dirty walls with holes and cracks, and toilets in a mess as you would never believe. We decided to take it on as our project, and we have already started cleaning up the terrain and toilets. We hope to fix and paint the classrooms soon!

Please pray for strength, finances and many opportunities to share the Truth as we serve at the school. Also pray for God's working in each team members&# 39; heart so that they are drawn closer to Jesus. Lastly also pray that God will bind the teams to each other in love, and prepare them for His work this year.

I hope to chat to you soon again!
