Starting on this GCEX year I constantly heard about his idea of a Luke 10 journey. I did not really understand what they were talking about. Through time I realized that somewhere on our journey we will go out on a faith journey explained in Luke 10:1-12. This journey would consist total dependance on God and His plan were to go, stay, eat etc. We had to follow in God's path for 10 days and hold on to only one comfort and that was your faith in God.
I would like to share this experience with you and tell you more about our God - Jahovah Jirah (God our provider). Our Lime Team set out only with the deep sense that we will be traveling to Mexico. We were currently in Gautamala and were given the choice to ask God if He wanted us in Gautamala or in Mexico. Our group prayed about it and felt that Mexico was the place. We set out with our bags and with NO money to follow God's path for us.
I had a dream a couple of nights before with only seeing a number of a house. Number 17. I did not share this with the whole group but only shared it with Lindie just to test if this might have some relevance to our Luke 10 journey.
So off we went, traveling by hitch hiking most of our way and waiting on God to provide in all aspects of life. God provided in so many ways that all of the mericles would be impossible to write down in one blog but I would like to share the ones that really spoke to my heart. The first story leads us to the first town called Solola. We travelled to this place with the first ride God proviede on the back of a police truck. Here we met up with some of the church members of the church in Panajachel. They had a little stall where they sold food on the side of the road. We talked with them for a while and Johan and I felt that we wanted to pray for their little baby. The little one was sleeping soundly and we layed our hands on her to pray. While praying we prayed for things that the Holy Spirit layed on our hearts and prayed specificly for generational curses. To give a small background we had sessions with the pastor at the church in Panajachel that taught us more about generational curses. He also taught us more about deliverances and what signs to look out for. In a case of a baby he said that through the experiences he had he realized that there was something present when the baby reacts abnormal for their own character. For example when a baby reacts by pushing away or crying when you just come close it's not normal behaviour. In our story when Johan and I prayed against the generational curses the little one started to make funny faces by twitching her eyes shut very tightly. This was while the baby was sleeping. We both realized that this was something manifesting and kept praying and rebuke what we felt the Holy Spirit lay on our hearts. After about a minute of praying the baby started to calm down again and you could see the peace resting on the little one again. As a team we know and feel that God truly broke things in that time in that little ones life. WE dont need to know what it was or why we felt we had to pray but I just thank God that He used us for this wonderful thing.
"The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!" (Luke 10:17).
Our journey took us to a town very close to the Mexico boarder and there God provided us with our first place to sleep. We had the opportunity to sleep at a volunteer Fire station. And there another mericle took place. We were driving with our hosts and I noticed one of the logo of the Fire station. And on this logo I saw the number 17. I was so suprized and showed Lindie. I asked the one guy if this was the adress but he said no it was their unit number.
WOW how awesome!! It made me realize that sometimes God speaks to us but we see the little things as insignificant but in God's eyes the things can mean so much more. So from there onwards we kept our eyes open for more things that God might show even if they seemed small in our eyes.
The provision continued and we just stood in awe of our God and just how much He loves us. I would like to skip forward in time to the place where God placed us in Mexico. God's provision to get to this place was amazing and to tell it all to you would take days but I would like to focus on some things that happened at our home in Mexico that truly spoke to my heart. God opened a door for us to stay with a lovely group of people that had their own church and orpahange. Here we were overflowed with blessing and love and it felt like God opened the windows of provision in that time. We helped where we could and had the opportunity to paint and move a classroom into another room.
The days went by so quickly and only a couple of days were left. When we arrived at the orphanage and met the children God truly opened my heart to two spesific boys at the house. I did not know why but I prayed that God will show me more about them and what He wanted to tell me. During one of the mornings I just felt that there must be more that we can do. I just felt that the work was not finished yet and could not understand why I felt this way. A deep loning and desire was placed in my heart for more ministry for the children and I prayed to God to use me. My spesific prayed was for these two boys. I prayed that God should use me how ever He pleases and that I would do whatever it takes just not to miss a chance of what He has for these two boys. But I was torn in two because I was not sure what the leaders felt and I was not prepaired to work without being under their authority. But God knew what He wanted and I just finished my silent prayed when the main leader came in (Bill). He invited our group to pray with them as team for two boys. And yes it was the two exact boys God placed on my heart from the time we got there. The prayer was to brake bondages and to just bless the two boys and also to minister in any way God shows us. It was such a huge answer to my prayer and after praying for the two boys I felt a peace that God is busy with a process. I was just lucky to see a part of it. To God be all the GLORY!!!!
Another mericle I would like to share was during our stay at the orphanage. One night the one pastor came in with bad news that one of their chruch members had an emergancy. Her little child (almost 2 years old) took live electricle wires in both his hands and electrocuted himself. He was rushed to the emergancy and both his arms were black and the one leg where the electricity exited was black as well. The pastor asked for us to pray and he would rush to the hospital. As a team we started to intercede and prayed that God will restore every part of the child's body. That night when the pastor returned we heard that God healed the little one completely and only little small marks are left on his hands. Another mericle and only God could do things so amazing.
I wish that I could share all the mericles in detail but it would just be impossible to explain all that God has done for us in those 10 days. I could only share the parts that truly spoke to my heart but still there are so many stories to share. Our group will write blogs each one of their own experiences of this Luke 10 journey so look out for them.
Always remember that God can even work in the smallest thing and that His ways might look very different from our ways.
Be blessed and may God keep you safe untill next time
