I do not know what exactly the significance is of forty days, but looking back on our time in Zambia, I can only describe it as an intense time of teachings and preparation for the journey ahead.  God came and taught me so much more.  For me this was a time in which the foundations spoken of in Hebrews 6 have been firmly established in my life.  Now it is time to leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity.  And God permitting, I will do so.

The focus was on our personal relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  With this as foundation, we looked at basic kingdom principals such as prayer, fasting, authority, etc.  We were challenged on our way of thinking, looking at the difference between a worldly perspective versus a Biblical perspective.

An important part of our training was the mission training.  This part of the course addressed the purpose of our journey and the reality of the great commission – to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded.  And this is the reality to which each and every disciple of Jesus Christ has been called.  IN whatever area of life or part of the world you may be.  Fr the mystery of God is Christ in us, the hope of glory.  And we are to proclaim him, admonish and teach everyone with all wisdom so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
