So...the day has finally come(out of nowhere might I add) that I am able to fit my whole life into a backpack...
At first this thought left a frown on my face but was quickly replaced with a smile and the recognition of God's sense of humour...and for the first time the phrase "less is more" actually makes sense!!
It's probably the most liberating thing I've done in my whole life...and above the fear and doubt that the devil sneaks into our minds comes the undoubtable feeling of God's presence and an excitement I've never felt before!!!
1 Corinthians 9: 24-27 speaks of athletes competing in a race for the glory of the first place...but that only one gets the prize! They train relentlessly to get a crown that will not last forever...but we, this coming year, we will be running for a crown that will last FOREVER!! verse 26...'Therefor I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. (27) No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.'
So, at the beginning of this amazing journey through the wilderness that is God's heart, I can truly say, with a spirit bursting at its seams with expectation, that this year we will run and we will win, we will fight and we will land the punches!! That the Spirit will do things trough people that will leave us in awe of God's majesty and that we will be humbled by the power of the God that we serve...
Share the excitement of this year and follow our journey as we follow Him who leads us...
