If you were to ask me how Turkey was, I could gıve you the tourısty answer of how beautıful ıt ıs here and how wonderful the people ıs...but what we experıenced here was somethıng way better and more than that! From the moment we arrıved ın Istanbul God provıded ın our every need...from gıvıng us dırectıon of where to go, provıdıng an affordable rıde there, fındıng an open campsıte out of season at a prıce we could afford and stayıng there wıth people to whom we could testıfy, to meetıng a group of young guys playıng rugby and helpıng them out...
Just as a quick reminder...we are in Egypt at the Red sea and here is more coral reef than you can imagine!! Anyway...besides all the beautiful scenery in the sea, and out, and getting to know all the locals in this amazing little town of Dahad, we also got to spend some time at a retreat outside Alexandria and three days in Cairo. In the time we spent at the retreat we recieved teachings on the Old Testament which broke so many things, thought processes and mysteries open for the first time!! The first two weeks here in Jbay really flew by at an exceptional pace. The sounds and smells of the 'big city life' is a far cry from where I'm sitting now and I still find it hard to imagine that this is my new life...but with that comes the feeling of freedom and the comfort of knowing that someone much bigger than my imagination can fathom is in control!! Before this whole journey started I asked God to break my mould. A mould casted by the world, people, friends, family, and show me who He made me to be and recast...
So...the day has finally come(out of nowhere might I add) that I am able to fit my whole life into a backpack... At first this thought left a frown on my face but was quickly replaced with a smile and the recognition of God's sense of humour...and for the first time the phrase "less is more" actually makes sense!! It's probably the most liberating thing I've done in my whole life...and above the fear and doubt that the devil sneaks into our minds comes the undoubtable feeling of God's presence and an excitement I've never felt before!!! 1 Corinthians 9: 24-27 speaks...
