It's been quite a while since we've experienced Western culture, yet it was a refreshing break to spend almost 3 weeks in New Zealand.
The first week was set aside to processing what happened in India and have a few days of holiday. During this time we stayed in Algies Bay, just outside of Auckland. Thereafter the team was split up. A group of 6 went to Wellington while those remaining were hosted by various South Africans in Auckland. The Orange team were privileged to stay in Auckland. Here we attended various church services, testifying about God's working in, through and around us during this year. During the week Paul, Herman, Marisa and Elzet was part of the team that helped a local church running their winter holiday program. Every day they presented activities to the 5-11 year olds, playing with them and teaching them from the Bible. Christine was part of the group who helped out at a local old age home. Most of our evenings were taken up by the youth of the Afrikaans church. On Saturday the team was invited to a South African “spitbraai” where after we watched the Tri-nation's rugby game.
Before we knew it, it was time for the New Zealand Challenge and greeting all the wonderful people we met. One thing we can testify about is God's provision in all we needed. We were provided with accommodation, meals, friendships and fellowship. We praise God for every person who played a role in our lives during this time. Thank you to each and everyone who helped us, hosted us and showed us around. A special thanks to Surita and Gerhard for everything you've done for us. May God bless you tremendously for it.
