Six of us came to work (painting and gardening) at the First stage Girls' house. This is the house where drug addict girls that were picked off the street are rehabilitating. The method - meeting Jesus. It was incredible to see that these people come off heroin in just 10 days! Continuous prayer and the realness of the Holy Spirit in their lives set them free from from whatever addiction they are captured in, as well as other troubles that complicated their living. The challenge for them (contrary to our way in SA) is to come to a place where the fruit of the spirit is a natural part of their being. After 12 days, they are free to leave the house if they want to, some stay, some sadly leave again to go back to their old ways of living. & nbsp; The passion with which some of these girls worship God, the way they function in the gifts of the spirit, and the trust of the leaders on God as provider for everything that is necessary, is just a few things that already changed my relationship with God. Today, we were even part of a miracle when some random guy gave us 1000 $ after we came to the end of our available money.
It's a wonderful way of living to be in a place where your mind is set on God the whole day. As a group, almost all of our discussions are focussed on our current relationship with God and all that we are experiencing on an hour-to-hour basis.
I can only conclude by saying with Paul, that there is nothing in this world that even come close to knowing our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. |
