Silver team in Turkey

Welcome in Turkey was the sign as we entered baggage claim at the Istanbul airport after our short flight from Egypt! There is always excitement when entering a new country and this time is no different. After a trip of 9 hours on the bus from Istanbul the bus stopped in Kusadasi, 25km from Ephesus on the coast.

While we waited for the guys to find accomodation, Obi entertained us by competing with a couple of kids street dancing. Aunt Fielie, Nita, Dinnie and Marelize joined us for our time in Turkey and there is great expectation of what is to come.

Highlights of our stay in Turkey:

At the camping site the routine of pitching tents took place and everyone found a spot to call home! Our time here has been planned for prayer and study.

So we started praying, walking up and down the streets of Kusadasi interceding in the country with the least believers statistically. We even did a two day fast based on Ezra 8:21 for protection and a safe journey as we embark on our travels to Guatamala.

Studying we worked on Veritas and Aunt Dinnie encouraged, challenged and stretched us. We looked at Ephesians 4 and 5 and tough questions where asked, like why are you here? This particular answer is found in Matt28:18-20 however it does not only impact us but every human being God created, do we know this?

Another highlight was meeting some rugby players on the beach and through playing and becoming friends God prepared their hearts for sowing of seeds. These seeds we trust now to grow and that these young men will become revival pioneers in Turkey!

We were also delighted and extremely blessed to find a church in Kusadasi and a spirit filled pastor invited us back next year!!

The low for us as a team came when we greeted Obi as he left to go back to South Africa to continue his global challenge in Jeffreys Bay. Our prayers and best wishes accompany him in his journey ahead.
