I recently again read this piece by John Stott and would love to share it with you…
“We see with our minds eye the three thousand million unevangelized peoples of this world, who have had no real opportunity to respond to the gospel; the poor, the hungry and disadvantaged; people crushed by political, economic or racial oppression… We see these things: Do we not care?
Things could be different.
The unevangelised could be reached with the Good News of Jesus, the hungry could be fed, the oppressed liberated, the alienated brought home. We need a vision of the purpose and power of God.”
As we all stand at the beginning of a new year we tend to wonder our thoughts into the possibilities that might be… We think back on the things that never happened, or the chances we missed… and in some way, we know that 2008 will bring us a second chance.
What if the world could be different??
I believe that through Christ Jesus each one of us has the potential to bring forth change… God is calling on a new movement of committed and surrendered Christians to stand up and step into the works He has planned for us. If we would only listen!!
With the coming of the new year I was displaced in my mind for a few days about what this year will bring… knowing that I won’t be travelling as much as the last two years, I knew I had to make a mind shift… Reading these word from Stott I again realised the potential each one of us as committed Christians have in Christ Jesus! It is time to stand up!
It is my determination to be part of this movement through Jesus Christ which brings forth life and change in a world desperately needing True hope!!
Open your eyes… look around you, listen and see where God leads you!!
