Nearly ten months ago Annamarie, Clara and Stefan welcomed the GC07 team to a journey unlike any other I have ever experienced. We embarked on this journey with words from Psalm 84 “Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on a pilgrimage”. As I
reflect upon all the experiences that has left lasting impressions on my life, I can say with an ever thankful heart that I personaly, as well as our team as a whole, have been (and still are) blessed in abundance.
GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! I have learnt so much about the character of God this year and His faithfulness is certainly one thing that enfolds it all. Even when I am not faithful, God remains faithful all the time. He is constant and compassionate and abounding in love - a Father I am privileged to know. God is merciful and His grace is enough. He sees the misery of this world and this generation and He longs for His children, His creation, to turn back to Him. In His righteousness He longs to forgive, heal and restore. There is no doubt in my mind
that Jesus Christ is alive and that our God who desires a living relationship through the guidance of His Spirit with each and every human being, is worthy of all praise. It is hard to find words to describe all the impressions GC07 engraved on my heart and my mind. My life was changed as my relationship with God was deepened to a much more intimate level and as people, breath taking sceneries and experiences have impacted my very being. As I look back and consider my testimony of this journey, I pray for boldness and confidence and perseverence to continue sharing God’s grace and all His mighty works. I pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in testifying about my faith and walk with God. I pray for every person who has
impacted my life. I pray for every person who has been touched by our involvement in their communities and the relationships we have built. And I pray for every person who will hear our stories. Ultimately, I give glory to our King for He alone is worthy to be praised. And along with Casting Crowns, I want to lift my Lifesong to my Lord – may my whole life be a song to worship our Living God. God has spoken to me a lot through the book of Hebrews while we were in Africa and I would like to use the words of Heb 10:19-25 to encourage each and every one of you who has been my supporters through prayer, friendship, finances, involvement and love. “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to
enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened to us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” I know that God has blessed each and every one of His children through His very personal involvement in every area of our being and it is
our great commission and responsibility to bless others with that. As Ben from the mission centre in Muapula has said “We have been blessed in order to bless. We cannot keep it to ourselves”.
May God bless you abundantly as you set your heart and your lifestyle on a pilgrimage of faith.
