Written by Sulene - still news from Macau
The GCX08 white team (myself and the team leaders) had the awesome privilege of spending time of fellowship with Martie and the OM staff and students in Macau.
Meeting and sharing with these servants of the Lord was a very rich experience for me. It was HUMBLING to say the least! And encouraging and joyous and blessed!!!& nbsp;
Please praise the Lord with me for their lives and their commitment to serve and to love and to live fully devoted to God's kingdom.
Their generosity both challenged me and inspired me. God is speaking a lot to me in this regard and I still want to do an in-depth study of "giving generously" in His word (any suggestions or guidelines welcome, please).
The thing is... I believe it's about more than giving as we think about it in general secular terms. It's about the willingness to share and to give without expecting anything in return. It's about the heart of a cheerful giver. An attitude that finds joy in giving - giving not only what I have but also who I am, not only what I can do but also who I can be.
"for God loves a cheerful giver" (1 Cor 9:7)
More examples of cheerful givers that touched my heart in Macau:
- The couple that housed all 24 of us when the typhoon threatened to sweep us away - you two are great!
- Rev Judy and Bryan and the whole 'family' of Morrison Chapel whom we had great fellowship with on Sunday.
- My mom and Chereto (no idea how to spell her name, sorry!) who helped us all to get our GC jackets properly washed for the first time in weeks.
- Mom, who unselfishly shared her wisdom, time and motherly love with all of us.
- GCX team members who continually share their hearts and love within the team as well as with others.
Till next time
