Imagine NO FEAR...

(I wrote this while we were in Bosnia i Hercegovina in July 2007)

Being faced with some major decisions about my future, a friend has asked me one simple yet complex question:  “What would you do if fear did not influence your choice?”  And of course this question has started one of those major thinking cycles in my head.

I guess we are all faced with choices, however big or small each day and there are multiple factors influencing these decisions.  To be honest though, fear is not one of the factors I particularly like to acknowledge.  Well, not until I was asked this question by this godly woman and I started wondering...

Trying to imagine a life with no fear...  Imagine no fear in major life choices and imagine no fear in basic day to day living.

How would my life be different?  Do you think it might influence how you live?  Will it give you and me that boldness we need to live the lives we desire to the glory of our Creator God?  The only One who actually deserves any fear?

Imagine no fear of what the world might say or do or think.

Imagine no fear of what might go wrong.

Imagine no fear of whether or not it will be the best thing or the right thing to do.

Imagine no fear of not being ready or worthy or good enough.

Imagine...

No fear of what tomorrow might bring.

No fear of being successful or not.

nNo fear missing out on great things.

No fear of loosing what is dear to you.

No fear of rejection.

No fear of pain.

No fear of being all alone.

No fear of being surrounded by too many.

No fear of getting hurt.

No fear of long past memories coming back to break you again.

No fear of love not being real.

No fear of not being sincere.

No fear of people who try to deceive.

Imagine no fear...

We all have different fears in life.  It may be physical, emotional or spiritual but one thing is certain - they are very real to us.  Yes, even when we don’t know how to verbalise it or we choose not to think of it.

The good news of course is that in Christ we are more than conquerors.  “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (fear) but a spirit of power, love and of self-discipline”.
