From the moment we tried to cross the border to enter China it was evident that we were stepping at least on someone’s toes… It felt like everything was against us – as if all the enemy’s forces were joined in an attempt to keep these vessels from spreading God’s light in China. But our God is an awesome God and His power is far above any forces, principalities or authorities of this world.

It took a good seven hours of interrogation and searching of our entire luggage before we could finally cross over to mainland China. Just in time to get the bus and still be able to catch our 34 hour train to the province where we were to spend our month of ministry in China. And there are still people saying that miracles don’t happen today?
Due to the Tibetan riots in certain areas we were unable to go to the towns we originally planned to go to. So the entire team ended up in the same city near the Yellow River. It was truly a blessing for us, though. We were able to spend Easter Friday together and enjoyed communion as a body in unity. We also had a 24/7 prayer chain going for 4 days and were once again amazed by our Father’s faithfulness in revealing His will and strategies to us. Jesus’ question and command to Peter at the end of the book of John chapter 21 challenged us to learn to trust Him even more: to follow Him without comparing our walk with Him with someone else’s and to truly grow closer to Him as we seek to love Him more and more each day.
A couple of days later the teams were able to spread out to different towns and cities. Currently we are all exploring our areas; seeking to build relationships (especially with the odd few people who can speak English); sharing the Good News; interceding for the people and nation and communities we’re in; and serving our friends as well as we can.
I am extremely grateful for the privilege of being in a relationship with our living God. My ambition is to be obedient to whatever He asks of me and to be able to walk in His ways as He leads me daily.
Here in the heart of China, God is currently asking us as a GCX team to:
• Be persistent in prayer;
• Live pure and holy lives that shines His light;
• Stand in the gap for the blinded, lost people here;
• Get to know His word and His truth more and more;
• Make use of every opportunity to share the Good news; and
• To bring Him all the honor and glory and praise.
Please continue to pray with us for these things and also to endure, stand firm and be sensitive for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in every situation. There are a number of team members who are struggling with cold and flu, so please pray for our health and protection. Pray also for all the believers in China, especially the family we are serving with at the moment.
May you too stand in awe of our mighty God this week!
Love,
Sulene
