I love Panama! This place is just too good to be true. Pastor Bill and his wife Anne are definitely treasures who God placed on earth to shed some light on His kind of love.
Awesome story: The church has a sign saying "God loves Tourists". Pastor Bill has a lot of testimonies about how 'random' backpackers or other tourists would come to church at service.
We have been doing the coolest things here. Panama is in holiday season and is known for it's diverse nature. It's packed with scientists and photographers (Germans, Aussies, Asians). Yesterday on my run I met a very interesting Aussie. The forest is only 1.5km away. We are blessed to have time for jogging here because since Israel it was impossible.
Pastor Bill has great testimonies and is on a prayer journey about Divine appointments. Last week we witnessed at the cosway with 7 other young church friends. I felt blessed witnessing to people out of a loving heart. When you've experienced God's love you can't help but want to tell others about it.
We shared in church and our team even started our own worship team. Pastor Bill also has a radio channel on which each team member gets the opportunity to share a bit more about what God has been doing this year so far.
We are going to visit a IHOP (International House of Prayer) base here! How cool is that? And we had a 24 hour prayer chain awaiting us. We also had a 'captive audience' (Pastor Bill's joke) waiting for us in the Prison this week.
I have just really been experiencing the Trinity intensely here. Just the way God is showing up in situations where we meet new people. They just think they are going for a Sunday walk with their dog at the cosway or shopping at the mall, but God knows He sent 14 people from South Africa to talk to them on 10 July 2016 to tell them there is a God and He wants them and knows them already and loves them and He wants to carry them.
Oh and we met a family with 6 children! My husband, if you are reading this: start getting yourself ready, Honey, I TOTALLY want 6 kids! They are so great! It looks a bit scary at first, but then you have a hour car ride with them in a mini-bus, and you end up going to the jungle with them and their machetes! How cool?! A big family is like a 24/7 slumber party!
When we went to prison we prayed for General Noriega. I experienced God's love for people. God doesn't judge us according to our standards (Praise God), but according to His own. We had fellowship with the General and prayed for him. God even healed his knee pain.
Today after church 5 of our team went to the house of a church member. His wife had cancer. She had such a terrible pain in her body last night that she screamed of pain and couldn't sleep. Today she was crying of joy after God took away all her pain. She kept on saying: "I believe in God."
We had a team member who almost couldn't breathe anymore as she was coughing one night. The medicine she drank did not help at all. The next morning our whole team united in prayer for her, and at the end of it only a little cough was left. She went to spit out balls of slime as everything started to get loose.
There are way too many stories too tell. Probably most people already stopped reading. Jokes. But this is just amazing how God is working. I love getting to know the Father's heart as I am journeying with 11 crazy family members. God wants to bless us and spoil us and heal us and love us, and God definitely wants to use us.
Sending Jay
