In a world of busy schedules, pressures, expectations, challenges, trials....what does it mean to truly walk in contentment...how does one find that...?
A few weeks ago on our LUKE 10 journey, I was walking along a farm road to where we were staying. A cool spring breeze was in the air and the last rays of sunlight on my face- I could feel an amazing sense of peace and fullness within me. There such an awareness within me of the presence of my Creator, that I couldn´t help but smile. This is what it is, i thought to myself, this is that contentment that Paul speaks about in 1Tim 6:6. (God had been speaking to me for a while about Peter walking on the water, and me keeping my eyes on Him and not looking to the waves). Yes, there are still many waves in my life and big ones that are waiting for me on the horizon- but in that moment, non of that mattered. Just this knowing of, everything´s going to be OK.
As I continued walking, I whispered to Jesus, ¨I always want to feel this,¨ and in my mind I thought, ¨but I can, it´s a choice, it´s a choice to walk in God´s peace¨. Looking back now, I realise it´s more than that: Peace and contentment come out of a deep realisation of who God is, His love for you, and that no matter what the circumstances are, that He will always remain faithful. I guess part of it is a choice then, a choice to let go and trust Him completely.
Here i was two weeks into a Luke 10 journey - we had started out with NOTHING just a bit of faith in knowing that God was calling us to Argentina- and God had blessed us more in those two weeks, of stepping out and trusting Him, than I have time to share.
I´m not a theologian, and I don´t always get it right, but this is my heart. My prayer for you is that you will step out and trust God... regardless of the waves... and that as you seek God, He will reveal more of himself to you. That you will be able to walk in the fullness of His will.
