Into The Wild!! (wYw)

Day five started very slowly as last night our room was, as Welman stated, like a primary school rugby tour.  We stayed up late telling ghost stories in the dark… and then everyone had to go to the bathroom together like a bunch of… uhm… girls.

Last evening Bernard spoke at the women’s gathering.  Being a guy, this was quite a daunting task, but God came through and gave Him the necessary words.  The message was on the compassionate God we serve and how He looks after us because we are His children.  De Necker then had the men to preach to and his message was that we are at war and we are part of god’s army.  The question he posed to the men was, “are you taking you place in the lines of God’s armies or are you hiding away?”

After the normal quiet times and corporate prayer, the Luke 10 teams were announced.  They are: 1. Welman and Philip, 2. Freddy and Bernard and then 3. De Necker, Angelo and Henro.  We shall inform you about what a Luke 10 is in a later blog.  This part of the journey starts on Sunday and will be where the real faith kicks in.  In the meanwhile, go read Luke 10.  That might give you an idea.

Ps Silvanus brought us some breakfast to the room.  What a great guy.  It was pork dumplings and some banana and coconut paste set in mielie-type leaves.  The dumplings were sticky rice, beans and pork set in the same leave thingy.  Interesting.

We had the morning free to do what we wanted.  Henro and Freddy struggled to sleep last night, so they caught up on that.  De Necker and Welman went to town to do some “internet work” while Angelo, Philip and Bernard got up to some monkey business...

Welman and De Necker met some school children on their way back from town.  They were very happy to see these foreigners and even more excited when the camera made its appearance.  Angelo also met some kiddies in the village we stayed in.  Communication in both cases was very limited due to their lack of English… and our lack of Kantanese.  Kids will be kids though and their innocence makes them too cute for words.

Henro is preaching tonight to a combination of two different churches, one from our village and one from a neighbouring village.  What a privilege to share the word with God’s children.

Tomorrow is a travel day again, so look forward to some God honouring stories.
Check out our video of the day.  God bless!
