Today was a new experience to a lot of us! We had the day off (it was Charmaine‘s birthday), spent about R55 and we were all off to the Himalayas to go on a bit of a hike to experience the true Himalayan experience… SNOW! An hour and a half ride through the mountains in the Indian jeeps (Mahindra) we were at our drop-off! It started raining! Now the question was… to go on this 3 hour hike in the rain to see snow, or to go back to town and sit in a coffee shop??? Hike it was!!!! We put on all the layers we had and we started off in the rain up the road!

WOW WOW WOW! The whole yellow team made it to the top! We were 3’400m above sea level and were looking over the Himalayas… surrounded by snow! Snowball fights, slipping and sliding, photo shoots and remarkable views took our breath away (together with the thin air)! God really outdid Himself with the beauty of the mountains!
It was ice cold!!! And we were not all dressed for snow! Our feet were soaking wet (walking through the snow), our hands could no longer function… taking your hand out your pocket to take a picture was becoming a mission and our noses felt like frostbite! But what an amazing, unforgettable, extraordinary, remarkable experience!
Thank you Lord for this opportunity! Your creation is a masterpiece!
