Hey... Mannn I've been putting off writing this blog for a while, just because I've no clue how to go about this. So i'm just going to introduce myself...:) My name is Gehta van Tonder. I live in White River Mpumalanga and I finished school this year. 'Nuff bout that, the moment I heard of Global Challenge I could feel the Holy Spirit prompting me to go. I know next year isn't going to be easy (hence the word 'challenge':D), but I have decided to follow Jesus with everything in me, no turning back. I want Jesus to be proud...

Greetings from Colombia, the home of great coffee, cocaine, and kidnapping guerrillas! We have arrived safe and sound, though some of our teammates had a detour through Peru and Ecuador. After a safety briefing we made way from Bogota to a nearby town of Fusagasuga.

 

Man! Have we had an amazing time! God has really been strengthening our relationship with Him as we build relationships with the people here in Ubatuba. 

Ahoi friends and family! Let me introduce you to the fast- as- lightning- very- very- frightening Silver Team... Erin, Jean, Chantelle, and Gehta. As we write this, we are sitting in an internet cafe in Ubatuba, Brazil safe and well. What a blast the past two months has been training in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, and what a privilege it is to now be in Brazil! It was an honour to have had Joe Erwing in our last week of training. He gave awesome teachings on the gifts of the Holy Spirit! It was sooo cool to be sent out being equipped...

Now we head up and up into the breathtakingly beautiful Andes mountains..

Now we went all the way from Central America to Asia.. Woooweeee! so 9 flights and a few bus rides later...we arrived in the Philippines...
