“New season”, “exciting times”, “faith journey”, “new friendships”, “God-centered lifestyle”. These are all phrases that would sum up our first four weeks on Global Challenge 2011.

It’s been an amazing journey thus far! After five years working in the corporate world, it has been very refreshing and in the same breath somewhat challenging adjusting to the new way of life as well as having to question my outlook on life, assess where my walk with God is at and what it means to truly live a God-centered lifestyle. It’s certainly wonderful not to have to spend two hours in traffic everyday.

There are two kinds of people in this world - those who have been to Thailand, tasted sticky rice and mango and can't get enough of it; and then those who havent tasted sticky rice and mango. It's really that simple. Trust you may be encouraged by what God has been doing in Northbound 2011 on the road from India to Thailand!

South Africa. China. Two worlds collide. Dumplings, fried rice, noodles, squinted eyes, communism, seriously bumpy roads, bicycles, green tea, lots of people, more people – this is China. Howzit my China!

Yes, you all wanna stay in Gautengeleng... at least you should!

We had such a blessed weekend away (14 and 15 January) with many previous Global Challengers who now live in the Gauteng and the surrounding area (and even had some visitors from China and Jeffrey’s Bay – now that’s commitment!).

"When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars which You have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him?
and the son of man that you care for him?"

Yes, we are on the road! What an amazing journey it’s been so far. A time of change and adjustment marked with highs and some lows, experiencing that thing called ‘culture shock’ and the reminder again that all this is about God – EVERYTHING that we do revolves around God and nothing else.
