You are the salt for the world!

All creation proves the realness of God!  Even in China, driven by Communism and prosecuting the Christians to go underground, the symbol for salt is a church!

Good morning Vietnam!

Many journeys in our lives don’t end where you expect them to end.  You have a certain plan and purpose in mind, but for some reason, no matter how hard you try, it just doesn’t seem to work out.  This is not about one those times…

Run to finish THIS race!

In the race of life, specifically this year of GCEX, we start off with so much excitement and enthusiasm. You’ve prepared for this as best as you could.   The trigger of blessings is pulled and you give your first step. Hey, this tempo is quite comfortable, even thought the route is not always so clearly indicated. While running, you get some forks in the road and make your choice. Sometimes you’re down, sometimes you go up. Sometimes, many times after a long downhill, you hit a dead end and all you can do is turn around – run back...

Obedience, even when I don't understand why...

Coming back from Luke 10, it was so great to see the rest of the team again, but still I found myself alone in the corner, many times.  Just reflecting on everything that happened and trying to make sense of it all.  What am I saying?  How can I ever try to figure God out??& nbsp; I don’t need to understand His will to do it!

Luke 10 - Who would want the easy way?

Luke 10 - Who would want the easy way?
When we prayed for Luke 10, I asked not for the easy way, but for God's way.  I want to grow in faith...  So, when the rest of Southbound headed north, Yellow team made our way down south, and what an incredible journey it was!   Okay, so from Takuapa (Thailand) we as Yellow team headed for Vietnam.  Receiving many confirmation that that’s where we have to go.  Many of the words we got, involved boats, so we felt lead to go down to Songkla (Thailand) and get a boat from there.  From leaving the house, we were blessed by...

Breaking my coral heart in the Philippines too…

Breaking my coral heart in the Philippines too…
While working on the ship, I always knew that I loved the Pilipino people, I just never realized how much, until I got to spend 2 weeks with them.  What I experienced pierced my heart so deeply that I couldn’t spend a single moment in prayer, without tears streaming down my face.  This was also the time that Clara and Anthony came to visit us.  What a blessing!  We just sat like little sponges around Clara all the time and tried to take in all the wisdom we can from her!     Our time with them was so incredibly blessed,...

The day my life changed…

Life doesn’t start the day you only give your life to Christ, I mean I did that many years ago, but still I wasn’t walking in victory.  How is this possible, do you ask?  Come with me and I’ll tell you…

Peru – the land of highs and very highs…

After experiencing many miracles traveling from Colombia to Peru, via the Amazon I must add, we arrived in Chiclayo.  To mention but a few, we slept on the pier waiting for our 16 hour speedboat ride on the Amazon; ran out of petrol and drifted in the Amazon for about 2 hours, which ended up in a praise&worship session on the roof of the boat; slept inside a locked airport, all by ourselves; overnight bus ride from Lima to Chiclayo – which only cost us R70!

How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news...
Closing the chapter on Brazil and opening up to Colombia.  From building relationships to digging holes.  Global Challenge will make you do it all!  I love it!      We stayed over one night in Bogota, with some of the missionaries, Mark and Joyce.  Lovely couple from America.  They work with the Indian tribes, there are about 65 different tribes, learning their language and culture and then sharing the gospel with them.  It takes about 5 or 6 years to learn their language.  Translating the bible can take anything from 15 years (for the New Testament alone) to 52 years...

Leaving a piece of my heart in Brazil...

Time flies when you’re having fun – with that we’re ending off our time in Ubatuba.  What a blessing it has been!  From the Brazilians I have learned that it’s important to make time for people and that building relationships is a big part of ministry.  O yes, on the picture with us is Elaine´s grandmom, she is 100 years old and still walks alone to the beach every day!
