Tears of hope, dreams and visions...

<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } --> July 2010 So there I sat in a living room in Addis Ababa listening to the story of a JUST adopted kid from Ethiopia. His adoptive parents had to prolong their stay a few times to wait for the adoption to be approved. Their boy was clasified as a Mingy (cursed/dirty) boy. He's punishment would have been death. But God saved him – hisbiological parents protected him against all advice. And now he's on his way to start a new life with LIVING hope and new parents...

A final URN Update...for now

A final URN Update...for now
Monday, 14 th of June marked the last day of food distribution for the Explore Africa 2010 Team. While our journey continues through Africa, we hope and pray that The URN Project will still continue to change and save lives. We received news on Sunday that the Nigerien government finally announced a state of emergency and hopefully the food shortages will receive a lot more press coverage and much needed attention. In the first half of May whilst still in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the URN Project was born out of lots of hope, prayers and uncertainty. We initially trusted the...

Ongoing food distribution in Niger

Ongoing food distribution in Niger
The tremendous support the URN project has received has enabled the Explore Africa 2010 team to distribute food in two different towns the past weekend.   Tânout is a town about three hours drive to the North of Zinder. The town is set in arid and almost barren land and the entire district has been severely affected by the ongoing drought and food shortages. The need in Tânout is big and expanding at an alarming rate.   Pastor Issa is a man from the Fulani tribe who lives in Tânout with his wife and four children. The church at his...

First Day of Food Distribution (Dogo, Niger)

First Day of Food Distribution (Dogo, Niger)
On Tuesday, the 2 nd of June 2010, at 07:00 in the morning the dawn broke on what would be Explore Africa's first day of food distribution in Niger. We left Zinder in the almost pouring rain which is a miracle in itself considering that it has only rained once in this region this whole year. We chose for this day the small town of Dogo 35 Km's from Zinder. According to our sources in Zinder, Dogo is a town already affected by the 2010 food shortages and the need abounds all over the surrounding district.   Yhaiea is a...

Urgent Relief for Niger Project Update

Urgent Relief for Niger Project Update
The URN Project is on a roll Watch our video: [video: 100x100] Praise the Lord for the R26 400 we have already received. With this money we will be able to serve our first targeted village with food parcels! This weekend we spent time with the Fulani tribe in Tânout, which is our major distribution point. When we arrived, it really broke our hearts to see numerous children with empty buckets begging for food. We enjoyed time with the Fulani tribe and also had some Bible studies with them.We discussed the project, and they are very excited and thankful on...

Sounds of sorrow, shouts of Joy

The rocking sound of a generator in the background is whispering bits and pieces of the story of Zanzibar – and  Africa:about falling and standing up and falling again, and eventually getting up again.. It becomes a famaliar sound, like the screaming Imam's voice and together they tell the story of this Africa –her pain and sorrows, her bondage and her everlasting struggle. Yet, the children keeps on greeting friendlyand the sun keeps on shiningand somewhere inside of me a ray of hope shines through the crack of these prison walls. For a Savior is on His way to reveal that...

A sword that fits

Dear Warriors, Knights and fellow Citizens Just the other night I was crying to the Lord about some things and responsibilities that simply seemed to weigh to heavy. While I was pondering on this I had a picture in my mind of myself with a big and heavy sword in my hands, standing in a thrown room. The thought came to mind that I chose this sword myself, and now I’m so tired of carrying it, nevermind trying to fight with it. I realised that God has a unique sword fitting for me. He created me and He’s the one...
