SPECTRUM OF PRAISE

1 May 2008, KL, Malaysia - Sulene

I visited Subang Jaya Gospel Centre in KL, Malaysia with the family on Sunday.  This fellowship of believers created a warm, welcoming experience for me and among them, I sensed a lot of what God intended the church to BE.  Church is not about a building or a social club, but it is all about obedience to the great commision of being and making disciples!  Church is being one body with many parts that reflects the glory of God.

Buying "mielies" on the streets of China

Buying mielies on the street!CHINA - Written by Sulene

What a joyful experience...

Buying "mielies" on the streets of China, who would've thought? First, you need a friendly smile!  But that is not hard to give or to receive in a city where very few people have ever seen a bunch of foreigners sitting around with huge backpacks on the street corner.

SA Gemeente, London on GCX08

A number of GCX08 participants are from SA Gemeente (Congregation) in London:  Stefan (GC staff), Sulene (Project leader), Hector (Red team leader), Marizy (Lime team leader), Debree (Lime team member), Liza (Blue team member), Mari (Blue team member) and Nina (who was part of GC07 and joined the Lime team during our time in Zambia).

We still appreciate the support, prayer and encouragement we receive from SAG a lot.  All of us have been greatly blessed through our involvement in SAG during our time of working in the UK.

Something I will always remember with gratitude from SAG, is the fellowship and upliftment I enjoyed in cell groups, camps, trainings and ministry groups.  I believe that the number of people who have joined the Global Challenge from SAG is a wonderful testimony of a living God who has worked through the church's ministry to "WEN, BIND, LEER, STUUR".

Thank you so much for your support SAG.  Please continue to pray for us.

Here are some pictures of SAG members in action on GCX08!

CHINA – GCX08 – PHILIPPIANS (Part 2)

Once more in Philippians 3 Paul starts by motivating the church to REJOICE in the Lord.  Joy is the predominant theme of this letter and I’ve learnt that the word “joy” in its various forms occur no less than 16 times.& nbsp; Rejoicing in God is not something we can do out of our own flesh and we should not even attempt to, but by the grace of God and the power of Christ in us, we are able to constantly find our joy in Him.  I have discovered that nothing else satisfies like He does and even though I can find happiness in a number of things; my joy is never complete without Christ.

STEPPING ON TOES

From the moment we tried to cross the border to enter China it was evident that we were stepping at least on someone’s toes…  It felt like everything was against us – as if all the enemy’s forces were joined in an attempt to keep these vessels from spreading God’s light in China.  But our God is an awesome God and His power is far above any forces, principalities or authorities of this world.
