My insufficiency, God’s Glory

I’ve tried to summarize the start of my Global Journey. The time here has been phenomenal, God has been teaching me about dependence on Him and has stripped me of self-sufficiency. I have learnt about pride, friendship, to live to love and I have seen His face all around me. I hope this gives you a little bit of insight into what I’ve been experiencing.

My insufficiency, God’s Glory

This whole time I’ve been thinking, man am I really like that? A sinner with a heart in open rebellion? Full of anger, fear and doubt, hopeless and broken without a word even spoken.

I thought I had it all right, but somehow I was still losing the fight - self-centered, reliant and defiant. I’m doing this alone and my strength has been my own.

Then he gave me ears to hear and eyes to see, how he would exalt my inability. You see true strength never lay in bravado; it lies where we abide, I in Him and His word in me.

I came here needing to end my self, with nothing to give and everything to receive because God reached down in His sovereignty to rescue, both you and me and now I hear these words resound: “that you are my son and here is a crown.”

So now when the accuser comes to deceive and tell me that there is no worth in me, I can’t help but say He’s right ... Were it not for that one scandalous night, whereI was washed white as snow and my sin was atoned - completely forgiven, now I sing He is risen.

They nailed my savior to that tree, not knowing that whoever believes would be set free. They mocked Him with a crown never guessing he would make it a throne. They thought they had God with His back against a wall, not realizing He ordained the fall. They thought he was pinned, helpless and defeated - little did they know where Jesus would be seated, at the right hand of the throne as all of heaven cried out: He’s home.

Give him the glory, honour and praise - the name above every other name. Then we’ll see Jesus doesn’t need to be accepted, for he is infinitely worthy of total surrender.

Now Open our eyes to see that there is one God from whom all things flow, that in His love we are intimately known and may this always be enough for us to pick up our cross. Conform me to Christ, bring me to the end of myself and prepare me for heaven. Let me reside in this one truth that everything I have, comes from you.

Teach me to love:

A sustained direction of the will toward the highest good of another, no matter what the cost - brothers and sisters can’t you see, it’s all about the lost?! Let’s break free from unbelief and idolatry otherwise - we’re just going back to being Adam and Eve at the tree. It’s time to give up our agenda and trust the defender.

Father, thank you for your mercy and grace, for another day of life to face. Teach me to live and to love, just as you did with your Son. Anoint and fill me with the Holy Ghost, so that your presence is what I seek the most. Let the power of Christ guide me to love, and in your word to always trust. I look around at all these people and think shucks, you’ve placed them in my path, now help me to love them at last.

Here I sit broken yet mended, stripped of my facade and finally dependent, I’ve nothing left to say but that I count it all as loss, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

So Father heres my only aim, take this story and please write it all for your glory.
