persevere
/pəːsɪˈvɪə/
verb
continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no indication of success.
This week, for me, was definitely one of the toughest but most rewarding weeks of Global. It was 'work week' and I have thoroughly enjoyed the physical work we had the privilege of doing! Working together, we built a pathway and a bridge on the side of the road leading into GLA
The most challenging part was a deeply rooted tree, standing right in the middle of the path that we were building and it needed to be removed. As we got to work, God spoke into my heart, opened my eyes, and showed me how working in a team is better than trying to do it alone.
It was a long and slow process but we removed it root by root. We persevered even when we had to go back to that same tree for two days. We encouraged each other when it looked like no progress was being made and even digging through rocks could not stop our determination to finish our task. We weren't doing this for ourselves, we did not do it with our own strength. None of it would have been possible if Jesus was not in it. Only through Him we had the strength and perseverance to finish.
