cambodia in a tuk tuk

our flight from Bangkok to phenom pneh was delayed, the team was not verry happy.

although we were thirsty, jet-lagged and hungry, we met interesting people while waiting at the airport in thailand. Justin, a mi9ssionary from Indiana, was one of our primary introductions. their team works with young girls in brothels.

on arrival we were greeted by andrew, the missionary here in cambodia, his wife and three tuktuk's. it was an interesting experience! wee loaded nine people, their baggage and a load of excitement on the back of a 50cc motorbike.

the traffic in the capital still amazes me. there seems to be no manner of order although, andrew tells us that accidents seldom occur. the avarage driving speed is about 40 k's per hour. in cambodia they drive on the right side of the road, but mostly everyone drives where they like and hoot when they feel like it. also, it is not an uncommon sight to see 5 combodians stringed on the back of a motorcycle. only the really rich own cars, usually japan rejects.

the cambodian people are extremely friendly. they smile when you greet them and the kids are adorable!
