we started the day shopping at the Russian market. we received a challenge card containing a list of challenges we have to complete. our team, consisting of Cornelia, eduan and elani, had to eat a choice of a) snake, b) frog or c) green eggs(courtesy of dr.suess.) we also have to visit the water of life centre where we have to take a photo with Stephen (from the USA) or the two south African doctors who volunteer there. later in the afternoon we visited the daughters centre, where Ruth and other volunteers train women who were previously sexworkers in handcrafts and cooking....
Hong Kong is Beautiful! There are tall modern buildings everywhere, featuring ammusing light displays, all surrounded by mountains, sea and health-green vegetation. We stayed over for 3 nights, driving buses, ferries and the undergound train, but most importantly walked the streets and met the people of Hong Kong. The people are Beautiful! Mostly friendly and humble and always willing to help. Unfortunately, there exists a "money-making" mentality that demands a committed, focused and obsessive working lifestyle, averaging 10 hours a day. I met a very special friend caught up in this "cultural-chain", but desperate to seek and know the truth. I thank God for His grace. I stand in amazement...
It is now several months since I knew Im going on the journey. It was a great time. A time where I had to focus on God for provision and a clear mind. I still need a lot of money in the bank account, but I know it is already paid by God, its just not yet visible for us in the account. All the money on earth belongs to our DAD and He will pour out when He wants to. Thank you Lord that you have already provided for me and my teammates! A little bit of how the money came in: ...

our flight from Bangkok to phenom pneh was delayed, the team was not verry happy. although we were thirsty, jet-lagged and hungry, we met interesting people while waiting at the airport in thailand. Justin, a mi9ssionary from Indiana, was one of our primary introductions. their team works with young girls in brothels. on arrival we were greeted by andrew, the missionary here in cambodia, his wife and three tuktuk's. it was an interesting experience! wee loaded nine people, their baggage and a load of excitement on the back of a 50cc motorbike. the traffic in the capital still amazes me....
To my English friends, Im sorry for the Afrikaans, let me know how interested you are and then I will translate...
June 2005 my feet touched the ground of Thailand for the first time. I was introduced to Mr. Prasert Tipparat (better known as Mr. P) and his wife Mrs. Pannee Tipparat (better known as Mrs. P). At that stage, Mr. P was the principal of Rong -Or school in Chiang Mai (the Northern part of Thailand) and Mrs. P a teacher at Talook school. They are both retired now. This wonderful man and his wife open up their house for the teams that come and go each year. They ‘take care of the team’ (as...
A certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John and Peter said, "Look at us." So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And...
