My biggest challange this year but alo my biggest revelation was how to share Jesus when I am not allowed to say His name.
Are actions powerful enough to convey Jesus? How do I show people Jesus in a place where I am not allowed to freely say His name? These are questions that I was struggling with for quite some time.
I am a person that enjoys speaking to other people about many things, especially Jesus. That is the only way I have ever conveyed Jesus...through always speaking about Him. So when I got into a country where I was not allowed to mention Him...all that I ever knew ministry to be was taken away. It felt like I was walking around with a big secret in my heart that I knew would change people's lives but I was not allowed to share it with them.
It was in this time that I learnt that there is more than one way of sharing Jesus. Another way that was just as powerful if not even more powerful.
Through living out Jesus. Through my actions.
I learnt that there is so much power in living out what was going on in my heart...that the world will know who we serve by seeing how we love. I learnt that instead of telling people about love to show them love, instead of telling people about humility to show them being humble, instead of telling people about Jesus to show people Jesus. To preach the gospel and when necessary use words became a big reality but a even bigger learning curve.
After 3 weeks with some ladies in the nations it was time to say goodbye. All the time spent with them Jesus taught me how to show Him without saying Him. They wrote me a letter to say thank you for our time spent together. They wrote down a few characteristics that stood out for them in me. Everything they described was how Jesus was! I was in awe...through my actions they met Jesus...when they gave me the letter I could share with them Jesus. When I said His name they already knew His character just because of actions!
And my biggest prayer was answered:
Lord let them see You in me.
