India has been great. I't weren't like the previous countries where I've been mostly challenged by the people and lifestyle. Rather I was challenged with how serious I am about living for God.
The first week we went up into the Himalayas, to the farthest town where you can go by vehicle! We had a week's training and saw the most beautiful scenery! Part of our 'race' in the mountains was to help locals plant rice, which I just loved! Getting into the mud, all dirty! After that we went to an orphanage/mission school. We painted their school, taught Maths and Science (everything I remembered from my primary school Science!), and spend some time with the children.
One day the founders of the orphanage, shared with us. Listening to people who suffered heavy persecution because they won't deny Jesus Christ got me thinking quite hard. Especially about
whether I'm just a Christian, going to church on Sundays, and doing all kinds of good things, but still not willing to surrender EVERYTHING. And I realized how much I still had to yield to God. So we worked through a hard time of giving my possessions, my family, my relationships and dreams to Him, who actually gave it and to whom it still belongs!
